Sometimes you need to go back to the drawing board. Then, when you get there you need to bury that original idea that you had and really pray that no one ever, ever finds out that you came up with such a dopey idea. The opening theme to THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN is about as close to perfect as you can get. It had the right music, the right narration, and the right visual image that set the tone for what was an exceptional science-fiction series. But, such brilliance was not the first idea for an opening theme. In fact, one of the first ideas was this HORRIFIC opening that features an ABOMINABLE theme written by Dusty Springfield.
