Courtship of Eddie's Father
You have no idea the shock that I felt when I discovered that The Courtship of Eddie's Father is airing on cable TV. (And, if you know me, you would not be shocked that after writing down the name of the channel it is airing, I promptly lost my notes......) This is yet another program that I fondly remember from my childhood having watched it on local UHF television during its airings. It was not the typical program I would watch, but perhaps it was Bill Bixby that drew me to the program. He was, of course, starring in The Incredible Hulk at the time and was a 'superstar' in my eyes.

What was strange about my attraction to the show was the fact that it was not so much a comdey classic such as the Brady Bunch nor did it have musical number like The Patridge Family. In fact, The Courtship of Eddie's Father came off more like a 1/2 drama. So what was it about the program that attracted me as a regular viewer during those summer breaks of the early 1980's? The poignancy.
